Djokovic & Monfils for Mubadala, Dubai
Following on from the success last year at the Mubadala World Tennis Championships, Novak Djokovic is set to make his first appearance at the event in Abu Dhabi, Dubai. The event will take place at the Abu Dhabi International Tennis Complex, at Zayed Sports City, scheduled for late December this year. It doesn't seem to be a well known tournament, and understandably so, as it isn't offically part of the ATP tour, and beholds a unique knock-out system. Nole is set to compete against Rafael Nadal, Roger Federer, David Ferrer, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Gael Monfils for the title, and whilst Roger Federer has been on top form for quite a few months, it will take some effort for Nole to cinch the win. The finale will take place on New Years Eve, where Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal seem closer to than the other contestants, having been granted a bye each. So far, Mubadala has seen Andy Murray and Rafael Nadal win, in the years 2009 and 2010 respectively, and it will interesting to see if either of the two can do it again. Although we hope that this is not the case, and that Novak Djokovic can grab the title with open hands!
